Why everyone keeps coming back.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Richmond, VA is a true haven for lovers of hearty Southern and traditional American cuisine. Nestled at 3620 Mayland Ct, this charming family restaurant embodies the warmth and comfort of a classic diner experience, infused with genuine Southern hospitality and an inviting rustic ambiance. As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by the cozy glow of a lit fire and the distinct aroma of freshly baked biscuits and sizzling comfort food, setting the perfect mood for any meal of the day.

The menu is a delightful celebration of down-home cooking, with standout dishes that are both nostalgic and satisfying. Start your morning with the Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich — a fluffy buttermilk biscuit filled with your choice of sausage, offering a tender, savory bite that pairs perfectly with their famous biscuits or corn muffins. For families dining with little ones, the Kid's Menu offers comforting favorites like the creamy, cheesy “Mmmm Mac & Cheese,” served alongside a fresh biscuit or muffin, and the Lil’ Barrel Cheeseburgers—two perfectly cooked mini burgers on slider buns, complete with a choice of one country side. These dishes bring a smile to kids and parents alike, proving Cracker Barrel is truly a family-friendly spot.

For lunch or dinner, the variety shines with daily specials such as the Monday-only Chicken & Rice—a tender baked chicken breast smothered in a velvety mushroom sauce atop buttery, seasoned rice—and the Thursday-only Turkey & Dressing, bathed in rich turkey gravy and served with hand-rolled buttermilk biscuits. The sampler platters are a perfect way to indulge your cravings, featuring the Classics Sampler with meatloaf, hand-breaded homestyle chicken, and chicken & dumplings, or the New York Strip Steak & Shrimp Combo, which pairs a juicy 10 oz. steak with crispy country fried shrimp, both complemented by two country sides.

Beyond the food, the dining atmosphere at Cracker Barrel Richmond is a standout. The wood-crafted architecture, complete with cozy nooks and vintage country décor, creates a homey, welcoming vibe that transports you to simpler times. The friendly and attentive staff amplify this feeling, earning praise from customers for their professionalism and warm smiles. Guests consistently remark on the seamless blend of comfort, tradition, and quality service. Customer Mike B fondly noted the “rustic touch” added by the lit fire, while Ekkapol Kunkaew appreciated the soft background music and excellent food delivery speed that enhanced the relaxed dining experience.

Cracker Barrel doesn’t just satisfy hunger—it sparks memories and creates moments. Whether you’re craving that perfect latte to start your day (and enjoying the bonus of free refills on coffees and teas throughout breakfast), or indulging in classic Southern staples with loved ones, this location offers a treasure trove of flavors and genuine charm. As longtime patron Latrice Robinson shares, their turkey & gravy is “amazing,” a testament to the authentic flavors you can expect here.

In essence, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Richmond is much more than a restaurant; it’s a comforting embrace of tradition, quality, and hospitality. Whether you are a local or just passing through, prepare to leave feeling nourished in body and spirit, having experienced a slice of true Southern Americana.

Great service, good food. Place was nice, loved the lit fire , added a rustic touch to the place. Staff was very friendly. One complaint was the eggs over easy I chose, the eggs were too easy to say the least...yolks were like water and not cooked enough...i will have to say the french toast latte was excellent, when you order a latte at breakfast, rest of your coffees and teas are free!!! I try to stop in here for breakfast everytime im in town.

The atmosphere here is nice, combining traditional American restaurants and small, separate general stores. The staff are polite, friendly, attentive to customers, professional. The food delivery speed is excellent. There is soft music playing in the dining table atmosphere and the architecture made of real wood. I was impressed for the first time here. Thank you for today.

This probably was by far the best location we’ve been to in Richmond. Their biscuits are definitely different from what we’ve seen over the years. The turkey & gravy is amazing. If you’ve been to Cracker Barrel you know their pancakes. But I do need for them to get those crispy edges on the pancakes back. We don’t want fluffy pancakes. We want fluffy pancakes with crispy edges or flat pancakes with crispy edges. Whatever you have to do to get us crispy edges back. This is the second location we’ve been to where we’ve realized that it had changed. Service was awesome as well. The hamburger steak was pretty good as well as the Mac n cheese. Definitely recommended.

Five Stars is always in order here. We get great service and the food is always hot. My situation is to pull my loving wife from the attractions of all the items that you see. There's always something new or something old that reminds you of your childhood. I saw some candy that, Old My Lord that I remember was my favorite. Like that "Zero" candy bar...Wow!!! Go by when you can. It's a treasure find.

If you are looking for comfort food this is your place. The menu is varied with something for everyone and the prices are very reasonable. I went on a Friday night and still had no wait time. The waitress warned us that the food might take longer than usual to come but it still came quicker than most places. Service is always efficient and good and the wait staff seem friendly and happy despite being very busy. Make sure you get some extra biscuits to go as they are happy to give them to you. There are a generous selection of sides to order with most entrees. You shouldn't go away hungry! Those looking for multiple healthy low calorie choices might be disappointed but I think most people will be happy. The entrance is an adventure for those going for the first time, jammed with a huge variety of merchandise to buy. Definitely an experience for the uninitiated.

This is your average Cracker Barrel. The wait for a table was 5 minutes, which is decent. We waited 35 minutes for the food, but it was super busy so that is expected. I loved the food here. The fried chicken is delicious and definitely fresh made. I also love how drinks are bottomless. I also love the checkers and the pin game. I almost got genius .

Cracker Barrel is the place , need I say more. What's even more important is the locals were pouring into this place. Line to the left, line to the right...here I was, stuck in the middle, waiting in the line too. They just serve some fantastic food. 5 . They just keep getting better, so go by when you find one in your neighborhood. Just put on your patience, there may be a line, be humble and be kind. Life is short, so just take your time. They will serve you with a Smile! If you don't mind, follow me, I am putting out a youtube soon. Stay Cool Ciao!

You can count on Cracker Barrel cooks up a big and satisfying breakfast. Our waiter Brandon was so kind and patient, he checked on us frequently throughout the meal. I had The Cracker Barrel’s Country Boy Breakfast, which consisted of three eggs, sirloin steak tips, two sides, two biscuits, and gravy. I ordered two pecan pancakes covered with fresh strawberries and hashbrown casserole as the two sides. It was a lot of food. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sirloin steak tips were very tender but slightly salty for my taste. My mom loved the loaded hashbrown casserole tots. There was no wait when we got there at 10 AM on a Wednesday. It was also lots of fun shopping in their store afterwords.
